Sharebite’s 2024 Impact: Feeding Communities, Supporting Businesses, and Going Green

Sharebite's 2024 Impact Report

At Sharebite, we’re on a mission to make sure every worker in America has access to a meal. Regardless if they’re in the office, working from home, or juggling both. Today, we’re excited to share our first-ever Impact Report, shining a light on how we teamed up with companies, restaurants, and hunger relief groups in 2024 to make a difference. From fighting food insecurity to supporting local businesses and cutting emissions, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to.

A Mission That’s Always Mattered

Eight years ago, we started Sharebite with a clear goal: no worker or family in America should go hungry. Our Founder and CEO, Dilip Rao, puts it simply: “The impact was never an afterthought—it’s why we exist.” We partner with companies to provide meals for their employees, and for every meal ordered, we donate one to someone in need through amazing organizations like City Harvest and Feeding America. With food prices climbing and over 47 million Americans facing hunger each year, this work feels more urgent than ever.

What We Achieved in 2024

Here’s a rundown of the highlights from our 2024 Impact Report:

  • Feeding People: Food insecurity is on the rise, but our one-for-one donation model is helping. For every meal ordered, we give back. This year, we crossed a huge milestone, over 10 million meals donated nationwide.
  • Empowering Companies: We make it easy for businesses to fight hunger through their employee meal benefits. When someone uses their Sharebite meal allowance, we donate in their local community. Big shoutout to some of our standout clients: MarketCast hit 15,000+ donations, SKIMS reached 30,000+, and Wieden+Kennedy topped 50,000+.
    • Jessi Ortolano, Facility Director at Wieden+Kennedy, summed it up perfectly: “Work feels meaningful when it helps people. Partnering with Sharebite has been incredible—our team knows they’re making a difference.”
  • Boosting Local Restaurants: Our Sharebite Passport (a virtual payment card for meals) keeps money flowing to small businesses. In 2024, 81% of transactions went straight to merchants, supporting 66,924 restaurants and helping them skip pricey third-party fees.
  • Getting Hands-On: Our team rolled up their sleeves for 11 volunteer events across the country. Together, we packed 31,085 pounds of food, assembled 3,500 snack packs, and prepped 3,080 boxes for people in need.
  • Going Greener: Sustainability matters to us. This year, we introduced a travel policy favoring low-emission options, teamed up with eco-friendly restaurants, and started batching deliveries to cut down on emissions.

Why It All Adds Up

Sharebite isn’t just about feeding employees, it’s about building stronger workplaces and communities. Companies use our platform to keep their teams engaged, strengthen their culture, and give back, all at once. That commitment earned us some cool recognition in 2024: #35 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, #35 on Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators, and #56 on the Inc. 5000.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud of what we accomplished in 2024, but there’s more to do. With every meal ordered, every partnership formed, and every volunteer hour logged, we’re getting closer to a world where hunger isn’t a worry for workers or their families. Want to learn more?
